Nova Scotia born Jesse Hemmings is a familiar face around the province’s local music scene, travelling with his Eastlink Community TV show “Atlantic Notes” and joining in on kitchen parties from Yarmouth to Cheticamp. Jesse is a classically trained vocalist who grew up singing in various choirs throughout Pictou County and has been playing guitar ever since he picked up his first one over ten years ago – a habit that quickly turned into a full-blown passion for songwriting and performance.

After a brief stint working in a gravel quarry which lasted almost 6 years, Jesse returned his focus fully towards making music and sharing his experiences with the people of this province. Inspired by the honest, jovial, and authentic qualities of classic Nova Scotian folk music, Jesse’s own songs bring that same down-home energy to the stage whenever he’s on – equal parts storyteller and singer, with a voice that carries the warmth of the kitchens and community halls he cut his teeth in.
